Thanks to the kindness of supporters like you, twelve dedicated nurses from the National Referral Hospital in the Solomon Islands have completed a week-long clinical training workshop.
With guidance from Interplast Nurse Educators, Daisy Sargeant and Skye Giannino, the local nurses strengthened their skills in critical areas such as patient assessment, sepsis detection, wound healing, diabetes care, and mentorship for junior staff.
Our generous community made it possible for the training to be delivered in person, creating hands-on, skills-based learning that the nurses can now bring directly to their patients. They left the workshop with greater confidence and practical strategies to improve teamwork, communication, and patient outcomes.
Through the week-long education and training workshop, Daisy and Skye were able to build relationships with nursing staff, which has helped them establish a monthly mentoring session to continue building on the nurses’ skills and education into the future.
This important training not only supports individual nurses in the Solomon Islands, but it provides a better quality of care for their patients, closer to home and without long waiting times.
This workshop is only possible because of supporters like you. Thank you for continuing to support our skilled healthcare volunteers in providing education and training across the Pacific so children and adults can get the critical healthcare they need.
