Interplast are excited to work with many prestigious institutions and dedicated anaesthetists to strengthen safe anaesthetic provision and effective pain-management. Alongside mentoring and learning opportunities during surgical mobilisations, we also offer anaesthetic-focused programs tailored to the needs and circumstances of our partners.
Mongolia
We’ve been working with the Australian Society of Anaesthetists (ASA) and Mongolian Society of Anaesthesiologists (MSA) on one of our longest running programs. Since 2008, we’ve focused on strengthening collaboration and knowledge-sharing through the professional development of rural anaesthetises, the creation of resources that support ongoing learning and best-practice, and support for the national conference of anaesthetists.
Vanuatu
In small health systems, one highly-trained, dedicated health professional can have incredible impact. The New Zealand Society of Anaesthetists (NZSA) are enabling us to support Dr Phil Temakon in his postgraduate Master of Medicine (Anaesthesia) studies at Fiji National University. Upon returning to Vanuatu, Dr Temakon will be equipped to lead further capacity development activities and provide anaesthesia and pain-management to patients.
Bangladesh
Interplast are currently working with the Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) to deliver pain-management training to professionals. ANZCA have enabled us to expand our existing training programs to follow patients throughout their hospital stay, and offer more support to existing leadership. We also hope to offer an Emergency Pain Management instructor course to train local leaders to strengthen the sustainability of this knowledge.
