Thank you for your interest in volunteering as an anaesthetist with Interplast!
As part of the application process, you are required to upload a letter of motivation, a letter of reference, your current CV, a copy of your medical degree, a copy of your current board medical registration certificate and a copy of your ANZCA fellowship certificate. We advise for you to gather these first and then fill out the form below.
Please note that while not all volunteer anaesthetist positions with Interplast require paediatric experience, if you don’t have such experience it may take a little longer to find a suitable program for you.
Please note: an iPad and mobile phone will not allow you to upload the required documents.
Minimum requirements:
Please note that the requirements for different anaesthetic volunteer roles with Interplast vary depending on the requirements of individual programs. However, all volunteer anaesthetists are required to be:
- Fully qualified – MBBS and FANZCA (or recognised equivalent)
- Currently registered to practice with no restrictions
- Have current Medical Indemnity insurance in place which will provide coverage for overseas programs.
- Willing and able to provide education to local counterparts.
What happens after I apply?
When we receive your application, it will be reviewed by the Interplast team, including, where necessary, members of our advisory groups, to ensure that you meet the requirements of volunteering for Interplast. We will confirm receipt of your application and let you know whether or not you have been successful in being added to our pool of volunteers.
Please note that Interplast is in a fortunate position to have more volunteers than it is able to send on programs, and this, alongside the 4-6 month lead time required to mobilise volunteer teams, means that it may be an extended period until Interplast is able to find a suitable volunteer position for you. We appreciate your patience!
