Across developing countries in the Asia Pacific region, allied health professionals have limited opportunities for professional development. Traditionally, Interplast has played a role in filling this gap through international partnerships and delivery of allied health education and training programs in-country; however this has been unable to continue due to COVID-19. Interplast recognises the gap in this area for local partner therapists and will call upon the strengths and networks that the organisation has forged over 40 years to host the first Interplast Allied Health Virtual Symposium: Hand in Hand. The Asia Pacific Allied Health online symposium has been possible through funding under the Australian Government’s Australian NGO Co-operation Program.
